Richard picked me up at my house at 5:50AM to head to the Huntsville Running Park for a hill workout at the Cross Country course. First, we had to stop by his house, because there was no way he was going to be stepping out of his car without a face mask on. Yes, it was that cold.

Of course, once I got my blood pumping and my heart rate going after one or two hill repeats, I quickly removed my own buff from my nose and face to allow for easier breathing. Temps were in the mid 20s, but it felt even colder. I had on three layers for the first time this year and I didn't feel overdressed at all. We ended up running a total of 4 miles (1 mile warm up, 10x hill repeats with recovery walks/jogs in between, 1 mile cool down). While I enjoy this hill more than "Puke Hill" on the Cotton Row course, I think I'll be heading back there again as that hill is slightly longer with more elevation gain as well. Either way, it was a good workout. I certainly need the training in preparation for the Fuego y Agua 100K next month. My plan is to focus on mileage and as much elevation gain during my runs as possible. Mileage and hills, that's it. Hopefully, I have  enough time prior to the race to get ready.
