Today was the final training run before tomorrow's Mountain Mist 50K. While I am treating MM as a training race in preparation for both Fuego Y Agua 100K in three weeks and the Double Top 100 Miler just two weeks after that, I still have some goals aside from just finishing MM tomorrow. However, I will refrain from revealing them here today.
Richard joined me for a short 4 miler at a nice and slow pace, just to keep the legs moving and lose for tomorrow's race. Rich is also preparing the DT100, so we both are going to have a similar approach to tomorrow's Race. The temps were cool and in the low 40s this morning with overcast skies, just the type of weather I expect for tomorrow. For the rest of the day, the goal is to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and to get some sleep. I will also be trying some other things during tomorrow's race, unless I change my mind, but more about that later.
