Alarm went off at 5:30AM, I was out the door at 6AM. Rich was a no show due to stomach problems. Mt training schedule called for 3x 2 miles at sub 7 min pace with 400m recovery jogs and a one mile warm up and cool down.

I hit the target pace for my warm-up mile as soon as I left my house. Once I reached the university gym at UAH, I started my first 2 mile interval. I was slow to get up to speed and it felt just a little harder than the last couple of weeks. Maybe it was the unusually high temperature (low 50s) or the lo run on Sunday, it just felt like effort. I wasn't hurting or anything, I was just having to push with more perceived effort and breathing a little heavier than usual. My hear rate also seemed to be slightly higher on average than usual for an effort like this. Let's just blame the weather for it, although it was perfect, slight cloud cover and not really too hot at all, just warmer than the last couple of weeks.

Overall, I was able to maintain the minimum pace required for each 2 mile interval. When I arrived back at home, I wasn't particularly tired. I guess it's okay to feel like you're working a little harder than usual every once in a while. Tomorrow calls for a slow 9 miles at sub 8:30 pace.
