I decided to move Monday's session to today. Thankfully, it was a fun. My training plan called for 6 mile Fartlek plus one mile warm up and 1 mile cool down for a total of 8 miles. I decided to do it after work to give myself yet another opportunity to sleep in just a little in the morning.
Richard came over to my house at 4:30 PM and after I was finally ready to go, we took off at 8:30 pace for our warm up as required. We headed to UAH and as we approached the gym, the 6 mile Fartlek session was initiated by my trusty Garmin Forerunner. Richard and I took turn deciding when we would speed up and for how long. It was actually quite fun. I'm not sure Rich would agree, but I definitely enjoyed it. It made time pass very quickly and to me, that's a good thing when you have to do speedier workouts on the road instead of doing longer slower trail runs. The weather was perfect, too, with temperatures in the low 70s, but quickly cooling off as the sun went down. Perfect running weather.

I think we should have our next fartlek session on the mountain. Add 1 min/mile to the pace on the schedule.
