So I decided to put on my running shoes for the first time since finishing my second 100 mile race last weekend. I took my son to his soccer practice and decided to "break the law". The City of Madison just completed paving a new greenway connecting Palmer Road right across from Palmer Park with Mill Road. From there, I took a right turn for a quarter mile before getting on the Mill Creek Greenway. Once reached the end of that one, I turned around.
I ended up running just under 4.5 miles at 8:30 minute per mile pace, brisk enough to shake the cobwebs loose and realize that I still know how to run after 5 days of rest. It felt good. The temps were getting slightly cooler than the last few weeks and I barely made it back before the sun set.

I was just looking at your Running total for the year right now, and I can recall a time when I really was pushing to get to 600 miles a year. 50/miles/month sounded so crazy.
