Since I had to skip my long run yesterday after playing a tough competitive soccer match at noon, I knew I had to get my run in today. While I would have preferred an AM run, Rich and I decided to join his brother Mike on a lunch time run. We met up at their office at 11AM and had decided to head towards Rainbow Mountain, running anywhere between 7 and 11 miles.
The temperature hovered around 88 with very low humidity, and a light breeze made it feel much better as long as we ran in the shade, which wasn't possible for much of the run. We adjusted our pace accordingly as both Mike and I played soccer yesterday and Rich was just feeling quite dehydrated. We ended up running just under 8 miles for an easy out & back from Research Park to the bottom of Rainbow Mountain and back.
Tomorrow calls for a speed workout, but I will have to wait and see if my body holds up. I've been getting banged up quite a bit in my recent soccer matches. A groin pull here, a sore hip there...it all adds up to some uncomfortable running.
