This morning felt like the first day of fall with temperatures in the low 60s, it was awesome. We finally had more than just two runners out for a run as well. James, Jay, Rich and I met up at their office at 5:30AM for a 10 miler to Rainbow Mountain and back.
We hadn't done this run in a long time. It includes an 8 mile out & back from Research Park and a 1.5 mile loop up and down Rainbow Mountain on a nice technical trail. It seemed that the recent rainfall and storms had washed out some of these trails, because they seemed much more technical (more exposed roots) than previously. While I didn't run it as fast as I had expected, it ended up being a great run.
The schedule had called for a steady 12 mile run. Since we had a nice and steep trail section included in our 10 miler, I figured this would be sufficient, even if it was 2 miles short. Tomorrow calls for a "slow" 7 miler at 8:10-8:30 pace.
